Early swelling, a shy quadriceps, and a fear of the last few degrees of extension. Later, the temptation to run because you “feel fine”. Feeling fine is not a hop test.

What we can do in clinic

I follow the surgical protocol you were given. Strength, then change of direction, then sport. Shockwave does not reconstruct a graft. Hands-on work helps you tolerate the programme.

Red flags and when to see your GP

A pop, sudden swelling, or fever in the joint — the surgical team or A&E, not a progress photo.
