Anxiety lives in the chest, the gut, the jaw and the sleep cycle as much as in thoughts. Acupuncture will not argue with your thoughts. It can help some people down-regulate that physical charge so counselling or everyday life is more possible.
I am an Anxiety UK-accredited practitioner and a member of the British Acupuncture Federation. That does not make acupuncture a stand-alone mental health service. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or the Samaritans. Katie, Gia or Jamie in this clinic offer talking therapy.
I also use ear acupuncture in some trauma or addiction-related presentations, as an adjunct, not as a substitute for specialist services.
People often notice they sleep more deeply after a few sessions. That is useful. It is not a personality transplant. We review. If nothing is shifting, we stop or change course.
This article is general information for people considering care at Health at Hart in Hartley Wintney. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a promise of outcome. If you have sudden, severe or unexplained symptoms — including chest pain, unexplained weight loss, night pain, bowel or bladder changes, or a new neurological problem — seek urgent medical advice (NHS 111 or 999). UK osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. Counsellors named here are BACP-registered where stated. Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
