Symptoms and what they can mean

A sharp grab on a breath, a twist, or a laugh. You had a cough for a fortnight. The GP said the chest was clear. The rib still feels as if it might crack.

What we can do in clinic

The thoracic joints and intercostals can stay irritated after coughing. Gentle osteopathy often helps you breathe without guarding. Cranial work can sit beside that if the whole system is tired.

Red flags and when to see your GP

Breathlessness, a cough that produces blood, fever that returns, or pain after a car accident — that is medical, not a “stuck rib” story. A clot on blood thinners is an emergency.
