Osteopathy
From “I cannot lift my arm” to desk-related shoulder ache — how Steve Hall assesses the shoulder as part of the neck, ribcage and scapula, not in isolation.

One of the most useful things I can do for shoulder pain is look at the neck and the thoracic spine. A stiff upper back changes how the shoulder blade shares work with the arm. Treating only the sore spot is why some people have months of GP visits without a change.
That was the story behind one of our published testimonials — pain on lifting the arm that settled once the mechanical picture was examined properly. Individual results differ. Assessment still comes first.
Irritable rotator cuff tendons, acromioclavicular joint strain, and adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) each feel different on examination. Frozen shoulder has a characteristic loss of rotation and a long natural history. Osteopathy may help with comfort and neighbouring stiffness; it does not magically shorten every frozen shoulder overnight.
Trauma, a sudden loss of strength, or a suspicion of referred pain from the neck or, rarely, the chest, changes the plan. I will refer back to your GP if osteopathy is the wrong tool.
