Physiotherapy

Staying active as you get older

Balance, strength and confidence — physiotherapy with Deborah Bateson for later-life movement, without talking down to anyone.

Age is not a diagnosis

I treat the presentation: a painful knee, a hip that will not quite extend, a fear of the kerb after a stumble. Chronological age is context, not a verdict.

Balance is a skill

It improves with practice. We do that in clinic and as homework that does not require a gym membership. If falls are frequent, your GP should know — medications and vision matter as much as glutes.

Working with osteopathy

Steve may ease the stiffness; I may rebuild the strength. That is a feature of this clinic, not a turf war.

This article is general information for people considering care at Health at Hart in Hartley Wintney. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a promise of outcome. If you have sudden, severe or unexplained symptoms — including chest pain, unexplained weight loss, night pain, bowel or bladder changes, or a new neurological problem — seek urgent medical advice (NHS 111 or 999). UK osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. Counsellors named here are BACP-registered where stated. Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
