Osteopathy
Neck pain after a shunt on the M3 — assessment, recovery time, and when Steve Hall will send you back to your GP or A&E.

Delayed stiffness the next morning is classic. Headache, shoulder ache and a sense of being “shaken” are common. Immediate severe pain, blackout, or limb weakness is a different pathway.
Once serious injury is excluded, gentle osteopathy and a graded return to turning the head can help. Collars for weeks are rarely the modern plan. I will not sign insurance forms I cannot honestly complete.
Loss of consciousness, vomiting, worsening headache, or neurological signs need A&E. Do not book osteopathy instead of that.

If you have sudden, severe or unexplained symptoms — including chest pain, unexplained weight loss, night pain, bowel or bladder changes, or a new neurological problem — seek urgent medical advice (NHS 111 or 999). UK osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. Counsellors named here are BACP-registered where stated. Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
