Counselling
Gia Bird on counselling when anxiety, school or sensory load sits alongside neurodiversity — without turning the young person into a problem to be fixed.

Neurodiversity can shape how anxiety, grief and school stress show up. Therapy should adapt: clearer structure, less hidden social demand, more honesty about overload. I will not try to make someone “less autistic”. I will try to help them live with less shame and more choice.
We can talk about what to ask of a school or employer. I am not an EHCP service. I am a counsellor who understands that burnout in a young neurodivergent person often looks like “attitude” to adults who are tired.
